I. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Preparation trade name: Stop-itch suspension.
International Nonproprietary Name: triamcinolone, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, nicotinamide, methionine, and succinic acid.
2. Dosage form: suspension for oral administration.
Stop-itch suspension in 1 ml as active ingredients contains: triamcinolone – 1 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride – 2 mg, riboflavin – 4 mg, nicotinamide – 10 mg, methionine – 20 mg, succinic acid – 2 mg, and excipients: carboxymethylcellulose – 1.5 mg, Tween-80 – 6 mg, sodium benzoate – 1.5 mg, potassium sorbate – 1.5 mg, cyclamate, aspartame, saccharin – 1 mg, xanthane gum – 2 mg, glycerine – 50 mg, and distilled water – up to 1 ml.
3. Preparation is released in polymer vials, packed individually in cardboard boxes.
Shelf life of product under storage conditions – 2 years from date of manufacture. Prohibited to use Stop-itch after the expiry date.
4. Product should be stored in manufacturer packaging, in a dry, dark place, away from food and feedstuffs at a temperature of 0 C to 25 C.
5. Stop-itch suspension should be kept out of the reach of children.
6. Unused preparation is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.
II. PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
7. Stop-itch suspension refers to combined anti-inflammatory drugs.
Included in the preparation’s formula synthetic glucocorticoid triamcinolone, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory and desensitizing action. Mechanism of its action is in blocking release of eosinophils inflammatory mediators, including prostaglandins, which potentiate inflammation, stimulate biosynthesis lipocartines having antiedematous activity, reducing the number of mast cells producing hyaluronic acid, reducing capillary permeability.
Vitamins В (РР, В6, В2), succinic acid and methionine improve metabolism, accelerate tissue regeneration, contribute to the restoration of skin functional state.
Stop-itch suspension according to the degree of impact on the body refers to low-hazard substances (4 hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
III. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
8. Stop-itch suspension is indicated in dogs and cats for treatment of inflammatory and allergic skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, eczema, neurodermatitis disseminata, scratching, alopecia, reactions to insect bites).
9. Contraindications for use of Stop-itch suspension include increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the drug (including in history), viral diseases, and diabetes.
Preparation is not recommended for pregnant and lactating females.
10. Stop-itch suspension is administered to animals orally in the morning feeding with a small amount of food or administered forcedly in dosing syringe one time per day at the following daily doses:

First 4 days the drug is used in a therapeutic dose, the next 8 days – in ½ of the therapeutic dose. Course of treatment may be extended at the discretion of the attending veterinarian.
11. In case of overdose animal may experience oppression and vomiting.
12. At the first application of the drug hypersalivation is rarely observed in animals, which quickly resolves.
13. Avoid skipping the next dose, as this can lead to inefficiencies. If you missed a dose, resume the use of the drug in the same dosage and the same scheme.
14. When applying preparation in accordance with this instruction side effects and complications in animals generally are not observed. In individual animals with increased individual sensitivity, depression, salivation, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract may develop. In these cases,the use of the drug is stopped and symptomatic agents are prescribed, if necessary.
15. Stop-itch suspension is not recommended for use simultaneously with other drugs containing corticosteroid hormones.
16. Stop-itch suspension is not intended for use in productive animals.
IV. MEASURES OF PERSONAL PROPHYLAXIS
17. When working with Stop-itch suspension one should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for handling of drugs.
During operation is not allowed to smoke, drink and eat. Wash your hands with warm soapy water after finishing the treatment.
18. In case of accidental contact of drug with skin or mucous membranes of eyes, wash them with plenty of water. People with known hypersensitivity to drug components should avoid direct contact with Stop-itch suspension. In case of allergic reactions or accidental contact with drug you should immediately consult a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or label with you).
19. Do not use empty container from the drug for domestic purposes, it must be disposed with household waste.
