Dosage form: suspension for oral administration. Stop-Intim® drops as an active ingredient contains megestrol acetate. The drug is produced in two dosages: Stop-Intim® drops 2 with megestrol acetate 20 mg / ml, and Stop-Intim® drops 3 with megestrol acetate 30 mg / ml. As auxiliary components, the preparation contains sodium benzoate (preservative) – 0.5 mg / ml and refined vegetable oil (sunflower or olive) – up to 1 ml. |
| Indications | Stop-Intim® drops are prescribed for the regulation of sexual hunting in cats and dogs, including for delay and interruption of estrus in female cats and bitches, decrease in sexual activity and correction of behavior in cats and males. |
| Dosage and method of administration | Stop-Intim® drops are applied to the animals individually 1-2 hours before feeding, dripping with the help of a dropper on the root of the tongue or a piece of delicacy. Before use, the suspension bottle should be shaken thoroughly for 1-2 minutes. The dose of the drug depends on the species, sex, weight of the animal and the purpose of application. Cats use the drug “Stop-Intim® Drops 2”: – in order to delay estrus – between testicles once a week in a dose of 4 drops per animal. The course of the drug – no more than 18 months. Repeat the course is possible after the cat has a normal physiological cycle. – for the purpose of interrupting the estrus – at the appearance of the first signs of estrus (and no later than 3 days from the beginning) 5-7 times with an interval of 24 hours in a dose of 9 drops per animal. Bitches use the drug “Stop-Intim® drops 3”: – for the purpose of delaying estrus for 7-15 days before the onset of estrus in a dose of 3 drops per 5 kg of animal weight daily. The course of application – no more than 32 days. During the year should be conducted no more than two courses of application of the drug. – for the purpose of interrupting the estrus – with the appearance of the first signs of estrus (and no later than 3 days from the beginning) in a daily dose of 12 drops per 5 kg of animal weight. The first three days the drug is used in a daily dose, the next 7 days – for 1/2 daily dose. During the year should be conducted no more than two courses of application of the drug. Male for reducing sexual arousal and behavior correction drug used in the following daily doses: – Cats 8 drops of “Stop-Intimate® drops 2” per animal; – males 12 drops “Stop-Intim® drops 3” for 5 kg of animal weight. The first 7 days of the drug is used in a daily dose, the next 14 days for 1/2 daily dose. |
| Contraindications | Contraindication to the use of Stop-Intim® drops is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including in the history), diseases of the genitourinary system, tumors and diabetes. Do not apply the drug to immature animals, pregnant women and lactating females. |
