Septogel (syringe catheter)

  • Septogel is indicated for the treatment of various forms of mastitis in cows, postoperative complications, skin diseases and mucous tunics in animals.

Composition
  • Septogel contains as an active ingredient: povidone-iodine 65 mg / ml and excipients.
Indications
  • Septogel is used to treat various forms of mastitis in cows, postoperative complications, diseases of the skin and mucous membranes (keratitis, conjunctivitis and vaginitis) in animals.
Dosage and method of administration
  • In the treatment of mastitis in cows, Septogel is administered intramammary, in the affected quarter, 10 ml each:
  • in subclinical and catarrhal mastitis, 1-3 times a day, with an interval of 12 hours.
  • In fibrinous and purulent mastitis – until recovery (but not more than 10 administrations) with an interval of 12 hours;
  • For the prophylactic purpose of mastitis in cows during the resting period, after the last milking, 10 ml in each nipple.
  • Prior to administration of Septogel, the affected quarter is released from the contents and the nipple is disinfected. Insert the syringe into the orifice of the nipple and lightly press the plunger to administer the entire contents, then massage the given quarter with movements from the bottom up.
  • In the treatment of skin diseases, mucous tunics and postoperative complications Septogel is applied topically: on fresh, superficial wounds, bruises, cracks, on postoperative sutures, in infected wounds and vaginitis, Septogel is applied on the affected surface in a thin layer, 1-2 times a day for 3-5 days;
  • In the case of purulent skin diseases and soft tissues (boils, abscesses, phlegmons), after evacuating the contents and healing the cavities, swabs are performed with the preparation Septogel.
Contraindications
  • Hyperthyroidism, increased individual sensitivity to iodine (including history) and other components of the preparation.
Warning
  • During the treatment, the milk from the affected quarter is milked in a separate bowl, decontaminated and discarded; of the others it is used in animal feed after boiling.
  • In human consumption, the milk is given after the animal has recovered and is confirmed with the test result.
  • The carcasses are used for human consumption without restrictions.
Release form
  • Disposable or special syringe of 10 ml each, with an extension for intramammary administration and a protective cap; of 10, 20 and 30 ml each in polymer tubes with secure membrane and threaded lid.
Storage conditions Store in original package. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at +5 – 25°С.
Shelf life In closed package – 18 months, after opening – 60 days.
