Dosage and method of administration | Meditin is administered parenterally: to dogs and cats intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously; IV. to sport horses. If necessary, the drug can be re-administered 10-15 minutes after the first injection. To achieve sedative and analgesic effects, horses use Meditin 1% at a dose of 0.02-0.12 ml / 100 kg of body weight, dogs – Meditin 0.1% at a dose of 0.1-0.8 ml / 10 kg body weight, cats – Meditin 0.1% at a dose of 0.01 – 0.15 ml / kg of animal weight. Doses of the drug vary depending on the desired effect, individual characteristics and breed of animal. Small breed dogs require a higher dose of Meditin 0.1% than large breed dogs. For horses, the drug is administered intravenously slowly (1 ml per minute). It is recommended to use 2 sterile needles: one for filling the syringe, the other directly for injection. As soon as the required dose of the drug is drawn into the syringe, it is disconnected from the needle in the vial. An injection needle is inserted into the animal, and then the syringe with the drug is connected to it. Feeding of animals should be stopped 12 hours before using Meditin. During and after anesthesia, the animals should be kept warm.
Meditin is usually administered once. If it is necessary to reuse, the drug is administered 10-15 minutes after the first injection.
