Product Description

Species Pigs.
Composition Live attenuated swine fever virus (Chinese strain C) min. 100 PD50, max. 1000 PD50.
Indications The vaccine is intended for the prophylactic vaccination of pigs against classical swine fever.
Dosage and method of administration Dose: 2 ml
Route of administration: subcutaneously, preferably in the neck area behind the auricle.

1) Preventive vaccination:It is used to vaccinate healthy breeding pigs and pigs intended for fattening. On large breeding and fattening farms, all pigs must be vaccinated sequentially in their respective visits. The type of feed should not be changed during the vaccination period.
Pigs intended for fattening, and pigs from sows administered the PESTISEN-C vaccine, should be vaccinated – due to their colostral immunity – at the age of 8 weeks.
One dose of the mentioned vaccine provides immunity during the entire course of feeding.
Breeding pigs (both sows and boars) from sows administered the PESTISEN-C vaccine are also recommended to be vaccinated at the age of 8 weeks and revaccinated at the age of 6-8 months (but not later than 1 month before their mating).
Pigs from sows that have not been given the vaccine against swine fever should be vaccinated in the same way.

2) Vaccination carried out by breeding pigs suffering from or infected with classical plague:
The PESTISEN-C vaccine can be given – taking into account the rapid development of immunity – also to breeding pigs that are at risk of infection or are already infected with classical swine fever. In this case, pigs without any symptoms of classical plague (without fever) are recommended to be vaccinated at the age of 1 week or older. Piglets vaccinated at the age of 1-7 weeks are recommended to re-vaccinate before they are transferred to the group for feeding.
Immunity against classical swine fever is observed on the 3rd day after vaccination, and it is finally developed on the 7th day after vaccination. The vaccine provides immunity against classical swine fever throughout life. Piglets from sows vaccinated with the PESTISEN vaccine, are protected for 6-7 weeks due to colostral immunity.
