Indications | Levamisole 75 is prescribed in veterinary medicine for deworming cattle, sheep and goats in case of dictyocaulosis, hemonchosis, bunostomosis, esophagostomosis, nematodyrosis, ostertagiasis, habertiosis, cooperiosis and strongyloidosis; pigs – with ascariasis, esophagostomosis, strongyloidosis, trichocephalosis, chiostrongylosis and metastrongylosis; dogs – with toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariosis and ankylostomiasis. |
Dosage and method of administration | The drug is administered without a preliminary starvation diet and the use of laxatives once, subcutaneously (cattle and small ruminants can be intramuscularly) at a dose of 1.0 ml of Levamisole 75 per 10 kg of animal weight. The maximum administered dose of the drug should not exceed: for cattle – 30 ml, for pigs – 20 ml; for sheep – 4.5 ml. Levamisole 75 has a limited therapeutic index, therefore it is necessary to accurately calculate the dosage of the drug. Before mass treatments, each batch of the drug is preliminarily tested on a small group of animals (5-10 animals), which are monitored for 3 days. In the absence of complications, the drug is used for the entire livestock. |
