Vaccine Nobilis ND C2

Species Poultry (chicks).
Composition

Active substance:
- Live attenuated Newcastle disease virus, C2 strain: minimum 5.7 - maximum 7.5 log10 EID₅₀* per dose.
*EID₅₀ = 50% embryo infectious dose: the virus titer required to produce infection in 50% of inoculated embryos.

Excipients:
Qualitative composition of excipients and other constituents:
- Sorbitol
- Hydrolyzed gelatin
- Pancreatic casein
- Disodium phosphate dihydrate
- Purified water

Indications

Active immunization of chickens against the Newcastle disease virus to reduce clinical signs and mortality.
- Onset of immunity: 2 weeks after vaccination of seronegative birds.
- Duration of immunity: 5 weeks after vaccination of seronegative birds.
- Onset of protection: Demonstrated at 2 weeks after vaccination of birds with maternal antibodies.
- Duration of immunity: Consistent with the vaccination schedule.

Dosage and method of administration

The vaccine is administered via oculo-nasal instillation or spraying.
Vaccination is performed with a single dose in chickens starting from 1 day of age.

Dosage: 5.7-7.5 log10 EID₅₀ (1 dose) per animal.

Oculo-nasal administration
The vaccine is reconstituted with an appropriate volume of a suitable solvent and administered using a standardized dropper (with known drop size and consistency). Sterile distilled water or phosphate-buffered saline can be used. The amount of diluent required for ocular or nasal drop administration varies depending on the number of doses and drop size, but generally, approximately 35 ml is used for 1000 doses. Apply one drop into a single nostril or eye. Ensure the nasal drop is inhaled before releasing the bird.

Spray administration
The vaccine is reconstituted in cold, clean water, to which 2% skimmed milk can be added. Vials are opened underwater, and the contents of the cups are poured into the water. Do not use chlorinated water. In both cases, mix the water with the vaccine thoroughly before use. The reconstituted suspension has a clear appearance. The water and administration equipment must be free of sediment, corrosion, or traces of antiseptics or disinfectants, ideally reserved exclusively for vaccination. The volume of diluent should ensure uniform distribution during spraying, varying based on the age of the birds and management system; 250-500 ml of water per 1000 doses is recommended. Spray the suspension evenly over the birds from a distance of 30-40 cm, preferably when the birds are grouped in dim light. If necessary, reduce or stop ventilation to prevent spray dispersion.

Vaccination schedule
Nobilis ND C2 can be administered from 1 day of age. Since the immunity induced by this vaccine is not long-lasting, an extended vaccination program is necessary. To maintain the required level of immunity, chickens should receive a secondary vaccination 2-3 weeks after this vaccine, using a live vaccine with the more immunogenic Clone 30 strain.

Presentation and use
The vaccine is available as a lyophilized pellet in glass vials or lyophilized spheres in cups. For cups, do not use the vaccine if the contents are brown and adhered to the container, as this indicates a breach in packaging integrity. Each container must be used immediately and completely after opening.
