Miocid

Species Cattle (cows).
Composition

1 syringe (4 g) contains:
Active substance:
- Bismuth subnitrate – 2.6 g

Excipients:
- Colloidal silicon dioxide
- Stearic acid
- Benzyl alcohol
- Liquid paraffin

Indications

It is indicated for the prevention of ascending mastitis in cows during the dry period.

Dosage and method of administration

Miocid is administered to cows once, after the last milking of the lactation period, before the start of the dry period. The contents of one syringe (4 g) are introduced intramammarily into each teat.

Recommendations for correct administration:
- Administering cold suspension is difficult due to the increased viscosity of the drug. To facilitate administration (to make it more fluid), Miocid should be warmed to room temperature.
- Before administration, it is essential to remove all milk from the teat.
- The teat is wiped with a 70% alcohol solution or a special antiseptic wipe.
- For calm animals, only the tip of the syringe cap is removed; for agitated animals, the cap is fully removed. Then, the cannula is carefully inserted into the teat, and the entire contents are infused.
- After administration, the teat and udder are not massaged.

Contraindications

- Do not use in cases of clinical mastitis in cows during preparation for the dry period or during lactation.
- Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Waiting period
