| Composition | Dosage form: suspension for oral use. Stop-Intim® drops contain megestrol acetate as the active ingredient. The drug is available in two dosages: Stop-Intim drops 2 with megestrol acetate content of 20 mg/ml, and Stop-Intim drops 3 with megestrol acetate content of 30 mg/ml. The drug contains sodium benzoate (preservative) as auxiliary components – 0.5 mg/ml and refined vegetable oil (sunflower or olive) – up to 1 ml. |
| Indications | Stop-intim drops are indicated for cats (females) for the prevention or interruption of heats and motans for the reduction of sexual activity and the correction of behavior. |
| Dosage and method of administration |
Stop-Intim drops are administered to animals individually, 1-2 hours before feeding, dripping with the help of a pipette on the root of the tongue or on a piece of delicacy. Before use, the suspension bottle should be shaken well for 1-2 minutes. The dose of the drug depends on the species, sex, weight and purpose of use. For cats, the drug Stop-Intim drops 2 is used: For the purpose of estrus retention: in the period between two heats, once a week, at a dose of 4 drops per animal. The course of treatment should not exceed 18 months. Repeating the course is possible after the cat resumes its normal physiological cycle. In order to stop estrus: when the first signs of heat appear (and no later than 3 days after the start) it is administered 5-7 times with an interval of 24 hours, at a dose of 9 drops per animal. For bitches, the drug Stop-Intim 3 drops is used: For the purpose of estrus retention: 7-15 days before the start of heat, at a dose of 3 drops per 5 kg of body weight daily. The course of treatment should not exceed 32 days. No more than two courses of treatment will be carried out in a year. In order to stop estrus: at the first signs of heat (and no later than 3 days after the start) it is administered in a daily dose of 12 drops per 5 kg of body weight. In the first three days, the daily dose is administered, and in the following 7 days, half the daily dose is administered. No more than two courses of treatment will be carried out in a year. For males, to reduce sexual arousal and correct behavior, the drug is administered in the following daily doses: Cats: 8 drops Stop-Intim 2 drops per animal; Dogs: 12 drops Stop-Intim drops 3 to 5 kg body weight. In the first 7 days, the daily dose is administered, and in the following 14 days, half the daily dose is administered. |
| Contraindications | Increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the preparation (including in the anamnesis), diseases of the urinary tract, tumors and diabetes. Do not administer to immature animals, during pregnancy and lactation. |
