Composition

Each tablet contains:  
Active substance:  
- Carprofen: 50 mg  

Excipients:  
- Red iron oxide (E 172): 1.52 mg  
- Black iron oxide (E 172): 0.95 mg

Indications

Reduction of inflammation and pain caused by musculoskeletal disorders and degenerative joint diseases. Used in the postoperative period after parenteral analgesia.

Dosage and method of administration

The recommended initial daily dose is 2 to 4 mg of carprofen per kg of body weight per day, administered as a single dose or divided into two equal doses. After a treatment period of 7 days, depending on the clinical response, the dose may be reduced to 2 mg of carprofen per kg of body weight per day, administered as a single dose.  
The duration of treatment depends on the clinical response; after a treatment period of 14 days, the veterinarian must reassess the dog’s clinical condition.  

Recommendations for proper administration
In the postoperative period, to extend the analgesic effect, parenteral treatment with an injectable solution may be followed by oral administration of tablets at a dose of 4 mg/kg of body weight per day for up to 5 days.

Contraindications

- Do not use in cats.  
- Do not use in pregnant or lactating bitches.  
- Do not use in dogs under 4 months of age.  
- Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.  
- Do not use in dogs with cardiac, hepatic, or renal conditions, in cases of potential gastrointestinal ulcerations or hemorrhages, or in the presence of known blood dyscrasias.

Release form

Tablets of 20 mg are available in boxes containing 20, 50, 100, and 500 tablets, in blisters of 10 tablets each.  
Not all package sizes may be marketed.

Storage conditions Store in a dark place, separate from food and feed, at T°C 5°C + 25°C, in places inaccessible to children.
Shelf life

2 years from the date of production, from the first opening – 24 hours.

Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
