Pigfen 40

Species Swine.
Composition Pigfen 40 mg/g – medicated feed premix for pigs. One gram of preparation contains (mg):
Active substance: Fenbendazole 40;
Excipients: Corn starch, pregelatinized starch, up to 1g.
Indications

Treatment of pigs infected with Ascaris suum (adult, intestinal, and migratory stages) susceptible to fenbendazole.

Dosage and method of administration

It is administered orally with the feed. The product is recommended for the effective treatment of pigs. A dose of 5 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight is administered. It can be given to pigs either as a single dose of 5 mg/kg (migratory larval stages, intestinal larvae, and adults), divided into a dose of 0.72 mg/kg for 7 days (intestinal larval stages and adults), or 0.36 mg/kg over 14 days (intestinal and adult larval stages).

Single-dose treatment
Use the following formula to calculate how much product to add per ton of feed:
Kg = Body weight (kg)
Powder per ton = Daily feed intake (kg) x 8

7-day treatment
The standard dose can be divided and administered in the feed for 7 days. Use the following formula to calculate how much product to add per ton of feed:
Kg = Body weight (kg)
Powder per ton = Daily feed intake (kg) x 56

14-day treatment
The standard dose can be divided and administered in the feed for 14 days. Use the following formula to calculate how much product to add per ton of feed:
Kg = Body weight (kg)
Powder per ton = Daily feed intake (kg) x 112

To ensure correct dosing, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. If animals are to be treated collectively rather than individually, they should be grouped according to body weight and dosed appropriately to avoid underdosing or overdosing.

For incorporation into dry feed at a registered mill.
A manufacturer authorized to incorporate veterinary medicinal products or premixes containing such products directly at any concentration must be responsible for mixing when incorporation is below 2 kg per ton for the final feed.
To ensure adequate distribution of the product in the final feed, it is recommended to pre-mix the product in a 1:10 ratio with feed ingredients before mixing into the final feed.
If the premix is used for supplementing pelleted feed, the granulation temperature must not exceed 85°C.
Do not mix with liquid feed.
