Emdocam 5 mg/ml

Species Cattle (calves and young cattle), swine.
Composition Each ml contains:  
Active substance - Meloxicam: 5 mg  
Excipients - Ethanol: 150 mg
Indications

Cattle (calves and young cattle):  
- Indicated for acute respiratory infection, in combination with appropriate antibiotic treatment, to reduce clinical symptoms in cattle.  
- Indicated for diarrhea, in combination with oral rehydration treatment, to reduce clinical symptoms in calves over one week old and young cattle not in the lactation period.  
- Indicated for alleviating postoperative pain after dehorning calves.

Swine:  
- Indicated for non-infectious locomotor disorders, to reduce symptoms of lameness and inflammation.  
- Indicated for the relief of postoperative pain following minor soft tissue surgeries, such as castration.

Dosage and method of administration

Cattle:  
Single administration, subcutaneously or intravenously, at a dose of 0.5 mg meloxicam/kg body weight (e.g., 10 ml/100 kg body weight), in combination with antibiotic treatment or oral rehydration treatment, as appropriate.  

Swine:  
Locomotor disorders:  
Single intramuscular administration, at a dose of 0.4 mg meloxicam/kg body weight (e.g., 2 ml/25 kg body weight). If necessary, a second dose of meloxicam can be administered after 24 hours.  

Postoperative pain relief:  
Single intramuscular injection, at a dose of 0.4 mg meloxicam/kg body weight (e.g., 0.4 ml/5 kg body weight) prior to surgery. Special caution must be taken regarding dosing accuracy, including using an appropriate dosing device and carefully estimating body weight.  

As the vial should not be punctured more than 50 times, the user should select the most appropriate vial size for the target species to be treated.

*Avoid introducing contaminants during administration.  
*Do not puncture the vial more than 50 times.

Contraindications

Cattle: 
- Not to be used in cattle with liver, heart, or kidney disorders, hemorrhagic disorders, or ulcerogenic gastrointestinal lesions.  
- In the treatment of diarrhea, not to be administered to animals under one week old.

Swine: 
- Not to be used in swine with liver, heart, or kidney disorders, hemorrhagic disorders, or ulcerogenic gastrointestinal lesions.  
- Not to be administered to swine younger than 2 days old.

Waiting period Cattle (calves and young cattle): Meat and organs: 15 days  
Swine: Meat and organs: 5 days

Storage conditions Store in a dark place, separate from food and feed, at T°C 5°C + 25°C, in places inaccessible to children.
Shelf life

3 years from the date of production, from the first opening – 28 days.

Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
