Meloxivet

Species Dogs, cats.
Composition

1 ml contains:

Active substances (mg): meloxicam - 1 mg.  
Excipients: sodium benzoate, kolidon K-25, potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, disodium dihydrate phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, citric acid, purified water.

Pale yellow suspension that may stratify during storage.

Indications

Dogs: Relief of inflammation and pain in inflammatory processes of various etiologies, such as chronic and acute conditions of the locomotor system (arthritis, arthrosis, dislocations, synovitis).

Cats: Relief of inflammation and pain in inflammatory processes of various etiologies, including chronic and acute conditions of the locomotor system (arthritis, arthrosis, dislocations, synovitis), and as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory during the postoperative period.

Dosage and method of administration

Oral, once daily, mixed with food or via a dosing syringe. Shake the suspension well before use to ensure homogeneity.

Dogs: For locomotor system pathologies, on the first day administer 0.2 ml (4 drops) per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.2 mg of meloxicam per kg of body weight). For the following days, administer 0.1 ml (2 drops) per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.1 mg of meloxicam per kg of body weight).

Cats: For locomotor system pathologies, on the first day administer 0.1 ml (2 drops) per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.1 mg of meloxicam per kg of body weight). For the following days, administer 0.05 ml (1 drop) per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.05 mg of meloxicam per kg of body weight).

Post-operative pain and inflammation reduction: After administering Meloxivet (injectable solution) at the appropriate dosage, follow up 24 hours later with oral administration of Meloxivet suspension at a dosage of 0.05 ml (1 drop) per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.05 mg of meloxicam per kg of body weight).

Treatment duration is determined by the veterinarian based on indications and the animal's condition but should not exceed 10 days.

Contraindications

- Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
- Not for use in dogs and cats suffering from gastrointestinal disorders, such as gastric or duodenal ulcers, with hepatic or renal insufficiency, or hemorrhagic disorders.
- Contraindicated in animals with heart failure and blood cell formation disorders, in pregnant and lactating females, as well as in young animals under 6 weeks of age.

Precautions:
- Concomitant administration with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), acetylsalicylic acid, glucocorticoids, anticoagulants, and heparin is not recommended, and there should be at least 24 hours between these medications.
