| Dosage and method of administration |
For subcutaneous or intravenous administration in dogs and cats. Cerenia injectable solution should be administered subcutaneously or intravenously once a day at a dose of 1 mg/kg body weight (1 ml/10 kg body weight). Treatment may be repeated for up to five consecutive days. Intravenous administration of Cerenia should be done as a single injection, without mixing the product with any other fluid. In dogs, Cerenia injectable solution can be used for the treatment or prevention of vomiting once a day for a maximum of 5 days. For the prevention of vomiting, Cerenia injectable solution should be administered more than 1 hour in advance. The duration of effect is approximately 24 hours, and therefore, treatment may be performed the night before administering a product that may cause emesis, such as chemotherapy. Due to the frequent occurrence of transient pain, appropriate restraint measures should be applied during subcutaneous injection. Injecting the product at refrigeration temperature may reduce pain at the injection site. |
