Cerenia

Species Dogs, cats.
Composition The injectable solution contains 10 mg of maropitant per ml as maropitant citrate monohydrate, in the form of a clear, colorless, or slightly yellowish solution. It also contains metacresol (as a preservative).
Indications

Dogs:
- For the treatment and prevention of nausea induced by chemotherapy.
- For the prevention of vomiting, except for motion sickness-induced vomiting.
- For the treatment of vomiting, in combination with other supportive measures.
- For the prevention of nausea and vomiting symptoms during the perioperative period and to improve recovery from general anesthesia after the use of the μ-opioid receptor agonist, morphine.

Cats:
- For the treatment of vomiting and reduction of nausea, except for motion sickness-induced nausea.
- For the treatment of vomiting, in combination with other supportive measures.

Dosage and method of administration

For subcutaneous or intravenous administration in dogs and cats.

Cerenia injectable solution should be administered subcutaneously or intravenously once a day at a dose of 1 mg/kg body weight (1 ml/10 kg body weight). Treatment may be repeated for up to five consecutive days. Intravenous administration of Cerenia should be done as a single injection, without mixing the product with any other fluid.

In dogs, Cerenia injectable solution can be used for the treatment or prevention of vomiting once a day for a maximum of 5 days.

For the prevention of vomiting, Cerenia injectable solution should be administered more than 1 hour in advance. The duration of effect is approximately 24 hours, and therefore, treatment may be performed the night before administering a product that may cause emesis, such as chemotherapy.

Due to the frequent occurrence of transient pain, appropriate restraint measures should be applied during subcutaneous injection. Injecting the product at refrigeration temperature may reduce pain at the injection site.

Release form Cerenia 10 mg/ml injectable solution for dogs and cats is available in 20 ml brown glass vials. Each cardboard box contains 1 vial.
Storage conditions Store in a dark place, separate from food and feed, at T°C 5°C + 25°C, in places inaccessible to children.
Shelf life

2 years from the date of production, from the first opening – 60 days.

Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
