Species	Cattle, dogs, ferrets, sheep, cats
Composition	Active substance: Each dose (1 ml) of Defensor 3 contains: Inactivated rabies virus, strain PV-Paris/BHK/purif. Pass 3, SVR-289 Minimum: 0.96 RP Excipients: Gentamicin ≤ 3 µg/ml Merthiolate ≤ 0.01% W/V Adjuvant: Aluminium hydroxide 2% Al₂O₃ — 10 ± 1% V/V.
Indications	Defensor 3 is recommended for the immunization against rabies of healthy dogs, cats, ferrets, cattle and sheep over 3 months of age.
Dosage and method of administration	Shake the vial before use and inject the contents subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Dogs and cats: General indications: Administer 1 ml subcutaneously aseptically. Dogs can be vaccinated subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Primary vaccination: Administer a single dose of 1 ml to dogs and cats aged 3 months or more. A new dose should be administered 1 year later. Revaccination: Revaccination is recommended every 3 years with a single dose. Ferrets: General indications: Administer 1 ml subcutaneously aseptically. Primary vaccination: Administer a single dose of 1 ml to animals aged 3 months or more. A new dose should be administered 1 year later. Revaccination: Annual revaccination is recommended with a single dose. Cattle and sheep: General indications: Administer 2 ml intramuscularly aseptically. Primary vaccination: A single dose of 2 ml should be administered to healthy cows and sheep aged 3 months or more. A further dose should be administered one year later. Revaccination: Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
Contraindications	This medicine is effective when administered to healthy animals. A protective immune response may not be obtained if vaccinated animals are in the incubation period of an infectious disease, are malnourished or parasitized, stressed due to the environmental conditions in which they live, or are immunosuppressed.
Waiting period	Slaughter animals for human consumption will not be done earlier than 21 days after vaccination.
Release form	Plastic bottles of 1, 10 and 25 doses, fitted with a rubber stopper, sealed with an aluminium strip.
Storage conditions	Store and transport at refrigerated temperatures (+2° – +7°C). Protect from light. Do not freeze. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the label. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Shelf life	18 months from the date of production. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
