| Composition | Ferran, in 1 ml of the preparation, contains 100 mg of trivalent iron (in a complex with low molecular weight dextrin), 0.005 mg of cyanocobalamin, 0.2 mg of folic acid, and water for injections as an adjuvant up to 1 ml. The preparation appears as a transparent solution with a dark brown color. |
| Indications | Ferran is indicated for young cattle, goats, sheep, horses, pigs, as well as fur animals and dogs, in the treatment and prophylaxis of anemias (post-hemorrhagic, hemolytic, hypoplastic, aplastic and alimentary). |
| Dosage and method of administration |
Ferran is administered intramuscular into the side of the neck or the posterior limb region. To prevent the solution from leaking, the skin is slightly pulled aside during administration. If the preparation is administered during cold seasons, the solution vial must be warmed in a steam bath to a temperature of 36-39°C. For preventive purposes, Ferran is administered in the following doses (ml per head): Sows 15-20 days before farrowing – 8-10 ml; For therapeutic purposes, Ferran is administered to animals older than 2-3 weeks in the following doses (ml per head): Piglets – 2-3 ml; In severe cases, a repeated administration is performed after 10-12 days using the same dosage. |
| Contraindications | Ferran administration is contraindicated in animals with increased sensitivity to the ferrodextran complex, anemias not caused by iron deficiency (sideroblastic anemia, lead poisoning), iron overload in the body, impaired iron metabolism, allergic skin diseases, acute glomerulonephritis, liver (hepatitis) and kidney disorders (glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis), as well as acute vitamin E deficiency. |

| Release form | The preparation is produced in vials of 10, 20, 50, 100, 250, and 500 ml, made of polymer material of the corresponding volume, sealed with a rubber stopper and an aluminum cap. |
