Indications

The preparation Ovostop is indicated for cats and dogs for contraception and regulation of sexual behavior.

Dosage and method of administration

The preparation Ovostop is applied once in the evening by dripping between the animal’s shoulder blades or in the neck area at the base of the skull, at a dose of 1 ml per cat, regardless of its body weight. For bitches, considering their body weight, the appropriate volume packaging or a combination thereof should be selected, using the doses indicated in the table.

Animal weight, kg Quantity ml per animal
Less than 5 1
5 – 15 2
15 – 35 4
35 – 50 6
More than 50 8

In case of ineffectiveness within 24 hours, the preparation is reapplied at the same dosage.
In rare cases, 12–28 days after the initial application, treated females may exhibit a mild estrus, which can be stopped by reapplying the preparation.
An intensification of estrus symptoms in animals may occur within the first 12–24 hours after application.
The effect of a single application in cats lasts longer (up to 4–6 months) in young animals and during periods with short daylight hours (winter-autumn); during periods with long daylight hours, the effectiveness lasts for 2–3 months. In bitches, due to the longer sexual cycle, a single application delays ovulation for 6 months. Daylight duration affects cats more significantly and bitches to a lesser extent.
Bathing treated animals is not recommended for 48 hours before and after application, nor should the preparation be applied to wet or damaged skin.
