Tincture of hellebore

100 ml of the preparation contains:  
- Protoveratrin: 0.13 g  
- Adjuvant: mixture of water and alcohol (70% anhydrous alcohol) up to 100 ml.

Internal administration:
- Ruminants: Used as a rumen stimulant in the treatment of functional disorders of the forestomachs, such as hypotonia, paresis, and indigestion caused by overload.
- Pigs and dogs: Used as an emetic.

External administration:
- For the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by ectoparasites in animals and birds.

Tincture of Hellebore (Tinctura de Strigoaie) is administered with drinking water, 1-2 times a day, until recovery, in the following doses (ml per head):  
- Cattle: 5-12 ml (0.01-0.024 ml/kg body weight)  
- Sheep and goats: 2-4 ml (0.04-0.08 ml/kg body weight)  
- Pigs: 1-2 ml (0.014-0.028 ml/kg body weight)  
- Dogs: 0.5-2 ml (0.05-0.5 ml/kg body weight)  

Depending on the species, the preparation is diluted in 50-500 ml of water and administered orally with a rubber bottle.

External administration:  
For external application, the Tincture of Hellebore is diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio. The solution is applied to the affected areas or to the spots preferred by ectoparasites. After 20-30 minutes, the fur is combed and washed with water. Reapplication should be done after 10-14 days.
