Floron 10%

Species Swine, chick.
Composition

100 ml of oral solution contain 10 g of florfenicol.

Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum synthetic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in the bacterial cell. In the protoplasm, florfenicol binds to the 70S ribosomal subunit, disrupting the activity of the peptidyl transferase enzyme, which leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis in the ribosomes of susceptible bacteria.

Indications

Birds – colibacillosis, infections caused by Pasteurella, infectious coryza, staphylococcal infections, infections caused by Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale, and other conditions caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol. Do not administer during the laying period if the eggs are intended for human consumption.

Swine – pleuropneumonia (Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae), atrophic rhinitis (Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica), Glasser's disease (Haemophilus parasuis), and other conditions caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol.

Dosage and method of administration

Birds – The daily dose is 20 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 100 ml of product for 100 liters of drinking water for birds up to 4 weeks of age, and 200 ml of product for 100 liters of drinking water for birds older than 4 weeks. The treatment duration is 3-5 days. Do not administer during the laying period if the eggs are intended for human consumption.

Swine – The daily dose is 1.5-2 mg of florfenicol/kg body weight. For a 100 kg pig, this equates to 1.5-2 ml of product per day. The treatment duration is 7 days.

For both birds and pigs, the medication is administered in drinking water. During treatment, animals should receive only medicated drinking water. If this is not possible, the daily dose should be divided into 2 equal doses administered at a 12-hour interval.

Contraindications The contraindication for use is increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the medicinal product.
