| Composition |
Glucose solution 40% for injection - transparent, colorless or pale-yellow solution with a sweet taste. 1 ml contains as active substance: Anhydrous glucose - 400.0 mg and pyrogen-free water up to 1 ml. |
| Indications | The preparation is indicated in the case of diseases with dysfunctions of the central nervous system (inhibition-excitation), deregulation of the vegetative innervation, in the case of acute infectious diseases and hemoparasitic diseases, in various forms of heart failure, hypotension, significant hemorrhages. Glucose solutions are administered in case of toxic infections, poisoning with narcotic substances, mercury, arsenic, strychnine, sodium nitrite and other substances; in the case of pulmonary edema; in liver pathologies (hepatitis and cirrhosis), diuretic insufficiency; in acetonemias, in postpartum hemoglobinurias in cows, in ketonurias and toxemias of dairy cows, ketonuria in sheep, weak contractions of the uterus, puerperal paresis; as a hemostatic remedy in the case of pulmonary, digestive tract and other internal hemorrhages, in hemorrhagic diathesis. Some preparations are diluted in glucose solutions with the aim of reducing toxicity or prolonging the action. |
| Dosage and method of administration |
Intravenous administration, slow. Beforehand, the preparation is heated up to T°C of the animal body. Dose per animal: horses - 30-120 ml; cattle - 30-150 ml; sheep, goats - 10-30 ml; pigs - 10-30 ml; dogs - 5-10 ml; foxes - 1-5 ml. |
