Species Pigs, poultry.
Composition 1 gram contains as active substance tiamulin in the form of hydrogen fumarate - 450 mg and adjuvants.
Indications Rhodotium 45% is indicated for the curative purpose of pigs in the case of respiratory and gastrointestinal tract diseases of bacterial etiology, the causative agents of which are sensitive to tiamulin, as well as in the case of arthritis caused by mycoplasmas. It is also used in turkeys and chickens in case of mycoplasmosis caused by M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae and M. meleagridis.
Dosage and method of administration

Rhodotium 45% is administered with drinking water, either individually or in groups. When group feeding, the solution must be prepared daily and it is important that it is the only source of water for the pigs and birds.

For pigs:

  • For pigs in case of dysentery, Rhodotium 45% is administered for 3-5 days, at a dose of 0.02 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 9.0 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight. The daily water requirement provides for the consumption of the 0.006% tiamulin solution.
  • In the treatment of enzootic pneumonia, Rhodotium 45% is administered to pigs for 5-10 days, at a dose of 0.033-0.045 g (15-20 mg tiamulin)/1 kg body weight. The consumption of the daily dose of the drug is done with the aqueous solution of 0.012-0.018% tiamulin.
  • In the treatment of porcine pleuropneumonia, Rhodotium 45% is used for 5-7 days in a dose of 0.045 g (20 mg tiamulin)/1 kg of body weight, with an aqueous solution of 0.018% tiamulin.

Preparation of solutions:

- For 0.006% solution, 1 g of Rhodotium 45% is diluted in 7.5 l of water.
- For 0.012% solution, 1 g is diluted in 3.75 l of water.
- For 0.018% solution, 1 g is diluted in 2.5 l of water.

For birds:

  • The necessary consumption of tiamulin for birds is ensured with the aqueous solution of 0.025% tiamulin, to obtain which 1.1 g is diluted in 2 l of water.
  • For turkeys, for the curative purpose of mycoplasma infections, Rhodotium 45% is administered for 3-5 days, in a dose of 0.056-0.11 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 25-50 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight.
  • For broiler chickens, for curative purposes in the case of mycoplasmosis in the first days of life, Rhodotium 45% is administered in a dose of 0.28 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 125 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight, for 3 days; from the 28th day of life, it is administered in a dose of 0.067 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 30 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight, for 5 days.
  • For replacement youth, Rhodotium 45% is administered for 2-3 days at a dose of 0.067 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 30 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight.
  • For breeding hens, Rhodotium 45% is administered for 3 days at a dose of 0.056 g/1 kg body weight, which corresponds to 25 mg tiamulin/1 kg body weight.
Contraindications Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the preparation. Do not administer to animals with renal or hepatic insufficiency and to sows in the first month of gestation. Concomitant administration with monensin, salinomycin, narasin and other ionophore coccidiostats, as well as with aminoglycoside antibiotics, is contraindicated for 7 days before and 7 days after the administration of these drugs, in order to avoid adverse reactions and complications.
