| Indications | It is indicated in the treatment of leptospirosis, brucellosis, tularemia, pneumonia, diplococcal infections, mastitis, endometritis, endocarditis, meningitis, puerperal and wound septicemia, swine rubella, edema disease, campylobacteriosis (bovine) and other infections caused by streptomycin-susceptible germs. | |||||||||||||||
| Dosage and method of administration |
Administer the freshly prepared solution, obtained by dissolving 0.5% streptomycin in an isotonic solution of sodium chloride or novocaine, in the ratio of 0.25 g of streptomycin / 1 ml of diluent (1 g of preparation per 5 ml). Streptomycin sulfate solution is administered intramuscularly, deep. Treatment course – 4-7 days, twice a day with an interval of 12 hours in the following doses:
In the case of leptospirosis, streptomycin is administered for 4-10 days, in a dose of 25 mg/kg, in severe cases the dose can be increased. |

| Contraindications | Increased individual sensitivity to streptomycin. Do not administer to animals with renal or cardiac insufficiency, do not administer simultaneously with aminoglycosides (kanamycin, neomycin, monomycin, gentamicin) due to the intensification of the nephrotoxic action. | |||||||||||||||
| Waiting period | Sacrifice of animals for human consumption is allowed - after 20 days, consumption of milk - after 10 days after the last administration. Products of animal origin obtained before the expiration of the deadline are fed to non-productive animals or discarded, depending on the decision of the veterinarian. | |||||||||||||||
