| Dosage and method of administration |
The preparation Xylanit is administered intramuscularly or intravenously (slowly, for 1-2 minutes). For cattle, Xylanit is administered intramuscularly, depending on the indications, in a dose of 0.25-1.5 ml/100 kg of body weight (0.05-0.3 mg of xylazine hydrochloride/1 kg of body weight) . Depending on the dosage administered, the animal shows sedation or muscle relaxation of varying degrees:
To sheep and goats, the preparation is administered intramuscularly, depending on the indications, in a dose of 0.05-0.25 ml/10 kg body weight (0.1-0.5 mg xylazine hydrochloride/ 1 kg of body mass). Horses Xylanit is administered in a dose of 7.5-15.0 ml/100 kg body weight (1.5-3.0 mg xylazine hydrochloride/1 kg body weight) i/muscular or 3.0-5.0 ml/100 kg body weight (0.6-1.0 mg/1 kg body weight) i /venous, continuous, slow, depending on the indications and the type of nervous activity of the animal. The sedative effect is induced within 5 minutes after administration and is maintained for 20 minutes. For excitable animals, the preparation is administered in maximum dosage. For dogs, in the case of manipulations not accompanied by painful sensations, Xylanit is administered intramuscularly in a dose of 0.5-1.0 ml/10 kg (1-2 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of body weight), cats- i/muscular or subcutaneous in a dose of 0.15 mg/kg (3 mg xylazine hydrochloride /1 kg body mass). |
| Contraindications | Xylanit should not be administered in case of mechanical disorders of the digestive tract (esophageal obstruction, hernia, ileus), in case of disordered cardiac muscle conduction in the anamnesis. It is prohibited to administer the preparation Xilanit in the last trimester of pregnancy, showing an oxytocinic action on the uterus, the exception being parturitions. |
| Waiting period |
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 5 days after the last use of the drug Xilanit. The meat of animals forcibly killed before the expiry of the specified period may be used as feed for fur-bearing animals. Milk from dairy animals should not be used for food purposes within 4 days after using the drug Xilanit, it can be used to feed animals after heat treatment. |
