| Composition |
Dirofen tablets (Dirophen tabulettae) contain the active substances: febantel, pyrantel, and praziquantel. This product is available in three different dosages: Dirofen tablets of 120 mg for kittens and puppies; Dirofen tablets of 200 mg for cats and small to medium-sized dogs; Dirofen tablets of 1000 mg for large dogs, with each tablet containing: febantel - 15 mg, 75 mg, 300 mg; pyrantel pamoate - 15 mg, 75 mg, 300 mg; praziquantel - 5 mg, 25 mg, 100 mg, and excipients: lactose, calcium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, povidone, sodium starch glycolate (Type A), and microcrystalline cellulose. |
| Indications | Dirofen tablets are indicated for dogs and cats, kittens and puppies starting from 3 weeks of age, for both preventive and therapeutic purposes, in cases of nematodosis (toxocariasis, toxascaridiasis, uncinariosis, trichocephalosis, ankylostomiasis), cestodosis (taeniasis, dipylidiasis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestoidosis), mixed invasions of the digestive tract, and giardiasis. |
| Dosage and method of administration |
It is administered to animals individually, once a day, with a small amount of food in the morning or as a treat, in the following doses: Dirofen tablets for kittens and puppies - 1 tablet/1 kg body weight; Dirofen tablets for cats and small to medium-sized dogs - 1 tablet/5 kg body weight; Dirofen tablets for large dogs - 1 tablet/20 kg body weight. For preventive purposes, deworming is carried out quarterly and before each vaccination. For therapeutic as well as preventive purposes in cases of maintenance in large groups (kennels, shelters, vivariums), deworming is carried out as follows: in nematode infections - twice with a 14-day interval; in cestode infections and mixed invasions, twice with a 14-day interval, once a day for 3 consecutive days; in giardiasis - once a day for 3 consecutive days. |
| Contraindications | Individual intolerance of the animal to the components of the preparation (including in the anamnesis). Do not administer to casexic animals, sick with infectious diseases and animals in the convalescence period, pregnant women in the first two thirds of the period, puppies and puppies less than 3 weeks old. |
