Dosage and method of administration The vaccine will be administered in drinking water. The water used to administer the live vaccine must not be chlorinated and contain as few metal ions as possible. This can be possible if the water stays in the waterers for 12 hours or if deionized water is used. The addition of powdered milk (skimmed powdered milk <1> Open the vaccine vial, fill with water and dissolve the lyophilisate completely.
The concentrated vaccine is slightly viscous, so care must be taken to empty the vial completely by washing with water. The contents of the bottle are then dissolved in a 10 liter container before administration. The vaccine must be shaken well, a few minutes before each step. Do not split the vial to inoculate more than one shelter or drinking system, as this leads to homogenization errors. Administer the vaccine in cold, fresh water at the rate of 1000 doses of vaccine per 1 liter of water for 1000 chicks at 1 day of age.
Example: 10 liters of water per 1000 chickens aged 10 days.
All containers should be emptied of water so that there is only water with vaccine in the waterers.
Ideally, the vaccine should be diluted in a volume of water to be consumed by the birds within 3 hours. If in doubt, water consumption will be measured 1 day before vaccination. Administer vaccine to birds immediately after dilution.
