Dosage and method of administration

Vaccination schedule: Birds with a minimum age of 10 days will be vaccinated with the safe dose. The optimal age for vaccination will be calculated based on the level of maternal antibodies. Typically, the optimal vaccination age can be calculated using the level of maternal antibodies in day-old chicks (Kouwenhoven's formula), but it usually falls within the range of 12-18 days.

Reconstitution of the vaccine: The vaccine is packaged in vacuum-sealed vials. Measure the correct volume of water corresponding to the number of birds to be vaccinated (see below) and open the appropriate number of vaccine vials under water. All containers used must be clean and free from traces of detergents or disinfectants. Dissolve completely using an agitator, ensuring all opened vials are emptied. Distribute the water immediately to the birds. For reconstitution, use cold, clean water in which the presence of chlorine or metals cannot be detected by taste or smell. Chlorine in concentrations up to 1 ppm has been shown to have a harmful effect on vaccine stability, therefore the use of skim milk is recommended to prolong virus viability. Add skim milk at a concentration of 500 ml per 10 liters of water. After thorough mixing, let the solution stand for 15-30 minutes before adding the vaccine. Only skim milk should be used as the fat in whole milk can clog automatic watering systems and reduce vaccine virus effectiveness.

Volume of water required for vaccine reconstitution: The volume of water needed for reconstituting the vaccine depends on the age of the birds and the rearing system.

Water administration system directly and through fountains: The following recommendations should be considered: 1000 doses per liter per age in days up to a volume of 20 liters per 1000 doses. For heavy breeds or during heatwaves, the water volume can be increased up to 30 liters per 1000 doses. When the number of birds falls between two standard dosages, the higher dosage should be chosen.

Water administration system with drippers: The maintenance condition of the automatic water system line significantly affects the viability of live vaccine virus. The vaccine virus can deteriorate rapidly, so it's crucial to ensure correct dosing for each bird. Care should be taken during administration. For example, small reservoirs at the end of the line will require refilling with vaccine water several times over a 1-2 hour interval.

Administration: Water will be restricted before vaccination. Ensure that the vaccine water is consumed within 1-2 hours. The watering line will be reopened after the entire amount of vaccine water has been consumed. Birds will not consume water if feed is not available.

Do not use for birds that do not have maternally derived antibodies.
