  • It is indicated as a local anesthetic for infiltration anesthesia in surgery; for relief of seizures in the intestine; as a chemotherapeutic agent for various ways of novocaine blockades.

Composition
  • The drug contains procaine hydrochloride, liquid for injection 0.5%.
Indications
  • It is used in the fight against pain by the method of local infiltration in conduction anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. For general action, it is recommended in the fight against intestinal spasms, vascular crises, traumatic and anaphylactic shocks, urticaria, with itching conditions, cardiac arrhythmia.
Dosage and method of administration
  • For local anesthesia, a 0.5% solution of novocaine is injected into each anatomical layer by infiltration. Stem anesthesia is carried out as close as possible to the nerve trunk that innervates the zone.
  • In epidural anesthesia, 5-10 ml of novocaine solution are used for manipulations performed on standing animals or 10-20 ml of solution for animals in the supine position.
  • Intravenous administration, especially in the treatment of colic and warts in large animals, 100-300 ml of a 0.5% solution.
    Cats are very sensitive to procaine, so its use is carried out with great care.
Contraindications
  • A solution of novocaine 0.5% is not used in animals with severe forms of nephritis, liver failure, hypertension, and does not mix with sulfonamides.
Warning
  • Slaughter of animals for meat, as well as milk obtained from animals during the period of application of novocaine 0.5%, is allowed 1 day after the cessation of the drug.
