Product Description

Species Cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs and cats.
Composition
  • 1 ml contains as an active ingredient: xylazipa hydrochloride – 20 mg, and excipients: sodium metabisulfite, chlorethone, citric acid, water for injection.
Indications
  • Xylanite is intended for use in farm animals, dogs and cats for the purpose of calming, analgesic and muscle relaxation during clinical examination, X-ray studies, to immobilize restless and aggressive animals, including during transportation; as a means of premedication for surgical interventions, painful manipulations, as well as for local and general anesthesia.
Dosage and method of administration
  • Xylanite is administered intramuscularly or intravenously (slowly, over 1-2 minutes).
Xylanite is administered intramuscularly to cattle, depending on the indications, at a dose of 0.25-1.5 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (0.05-0.3 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight). Depending on the dose of the drug used, the animal experiences sedation and muscle relaxation of varying degrees:
  • 0.25 ml per 100 kg of animal weight – a slight sedative effect with a decrease in muscle tone and maintaining body position in space.
    Used to calm the animal.
  • 0.5 ml per 100 kg of animal weight – moderate sedation, with a pronounced decrease in muscle tone (the animal, as a rule, maintains an upright position) and some analgesic effect. Used for clinical trials, minor surgical interventions, mainly in combination with local anesthesia.
  • 1.0 ml per 100 kg of animal weight – pronounced sedation and a decrease in muscle tone (the animal lies down), a high degree of anesthesia. Used for long-term surgical interventions with the possible addition of local or general anesthesia.
  • 1.5 ml per 100 kg of animal weight – deep sedation, with a complete decrease in muscle tone and a high degree of analgesia. It is used only in adult animals after a preliminary starvation diet during very painful and lengthy operations and during obstetrics.
  • For Small cattle, Xylanite is administered intramuscularly, depending on the indications, at a dose of 0.05-0.25 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (0.1-0.5 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight).
  • To horses Xylanit is administered at a dose of 7.5-15.0 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (1.5-3.0 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight) intramuscularly or 3.0-5.0 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (0.6-1.0 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight) intravenously in a stream slowly, depending on the indications and the type of higher nervous activity of the animal.
  • Sedation usually occurs within 5 minutes after administration and lasts about 20 minutes. For easily excitable animals, the drug is administered at the maximum dose. It is not recommended to administer the drug in the dorsal position of the animal.
  • For dogs during manipulations that are not accompanied by pain manifestations, Xylanit is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 0.5-1.0 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (1-2 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight), for cats – intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of 0, 15 ml per kg of animal weight (3 mg of xylazine hydrochloride per 1 kg of animal weight).
  • Animals should not be disturbed until the full effect of the drug.
If the required depth of sedation is not achieved, additional injections are not recommended to achieve the desired effect.
