  • Dironet® spot-on is prescribed for dogs from 2 months of age for the treatment and prevention of nematodosis, cestodosis, entomosis, otodectosis, sarcoptic mange, notoedrosis and demodicosis.

Composition
  • The drug as active substances in 1 ml, depending on the modification, respectively, contains:
    Dironet® spot-on for dogs – 85 mg of praziquantel and 20 mg of ivermectin,
    Dironet® spot-on for cats – 85 mg of praziquantel and 5 mg of ivermectin, as well as excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide and benzyl alcohol.
Indications
  • Dironet® spot-on is prescribed to dogs and cats from 2 months of age for the treatment and prevention of nematodosis, cestodosis, entomosis, otodectosis, sarcoptic mange, notoedrosis and demodicosis.
Dosage and method of administration
  • Before use, the tip of the pipette is broken off and, parting the hair, the drug is applied to the skin of the animal in places inaccessible for licking in the neck at the base of the skull or between the shoulder blades.
  • When processing animals, the contents of the pipettes are applied to the skin in 3-4 places.
  • The minimum therapeutic dose5 of the drug for adult animals is 0.2 ml/kg of animal weight, which corresponds to 17 mg/kg of praziquantel and 4 mg/kg of ivermectin for dogs; for cats, praziquantel 17 mg/kg and ivermectin 1 mg/kg.
  • The minimum therapeutic dose for puppies and kittens is 0.1 ml/kg, which corresponds to 8.5 mg/kg of praziquantel and 2 mg/kg of ivermectin for puppies, and 8.5 mg/kg of praziquantel and 0.5 for kittens. mg/kg ivermectin.

Taking into account the type, age and weight of the treated animal, tube-pipettes of the required volume or combinations thereof are selected and the drug is used in the doses indicated in the table.

* When treating dogs weighing more than 30 kg or cats weighing more than 5 kg, Dironet® spot-on for dogs or Dironet® spot-on for cats is used, respectively, at a dose of 0.2 ml/kg of animal weight, using combinations of pipettes of different packaging .

  • Do not apply the drug to wet or damaged skin, wash and bathe the animal within 4 days after treatment.
  • For the destruction of fleas, lice and withers, the treatment of the animal is carried out once, to prevent re-infestation – once a month throughout the entire season of insect activity.
  • In order to prevent re-infestation by fleas, the animals are replaced with bedding or treated with an insecticidal agent in accordance with the instructions for its use.
  • For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies), the drug is applied to the skin once. During treatment, it is recommended to clean the ear canal from exudate and scabs, and in case of complications with otitis media, prescribe antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 1 month.
  • For therapeutic purposes, in case of sarcoptic mange and demodicosis of dogs, notoedrosis of cats, the drug is used 2-4 times, with an interval of 10-14 days; in order to prevent possible invasion – 1 time per month.
    Treatment is recommended to be carried out in a complex with the use of etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic drugs in accordance with the instructions for their use.
Contraindications
  • Contraindication to the use of the drug Dironet® spot-on is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug. It is forbidden to apply to kittens and puppies younger than 2 months of age, pregnant and lactating females, patients with infectious diseases, debilitated and recovering animals.
Warning
  • Do not bathe the animal for 4 days after application.
  • Do not touch the treated area and avoid contact with small children for 48 hours after treatment.
  • In order to prevent flea infestation, the litter is changed or treated with an insecticide solution in accordance with the instructions.
Release form
  • Dironet® spot-on is produced packaged at 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; 0.5; 1.0 and 2.0 ml in polymer tube-pipettes, which are packed in 2, 3.4 or 5 pieces in cardboard packs along with instructions for use.
Storage conditions
  • Store in original package. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 0-30°С.
Shelf life 18 months from the date of production.
